Join us for a two-day in-person workshop at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) focusing on Sustainability Assessment and Life Cycle Thinking.
The workshop will explore methods such as the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Material Flow Analysis (MFA), and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM).
On the second day, participants will work in groups on defined projects and perform simplified LCA with support from SDU mentors, applying the approaches introduced in the lectures.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days, and participants are invited to a social dinner on the evening of the first day. Hotel and travel and other expenses should be covered by the participant.
Who should attend:
This workshop is specifically designed for professionals, researchers, and PhD/Master’s students working in the fields of biorefining, waste valorization, green technology, and circular economy. Attendance is highly relevant if you are involved in:
- Designing, optimizing, or scaling up processes to convert agricultural, food, or industrial waste/residues into high-value products.
- Conducting environmental or techno-economic assessments of bio-based products and processes.
- Seeking to integrate Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles into the development of new bio-based materials.
- Managing innovation projects like Agriloop that require comprehensive sustainability assessment and a life cycle thinking approach.
Event details
Location: University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense, Denmark.
Sessions will start at 9:30am on both days, the social dinner will begin at 6:30pm and we aim to finish at 2pm on the second day.
