About the event

As part of the Bioeconomy changemakers festival organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors, AgriLoop’s young researchers are organising a satellite event aimed at bringing young scientists and the general public together to discuss the circular bioeconomy.

The event aims to raise awareness among young Portuguese people and other local partners of the need to change our production and consumption patterns, with a focus on the conversion of agricultural and food residues into high-value, environmentally friendly products.

What to expect

  • An interactive living-lab: Immerse yourself in a research laboratory and discover the latest advances in safe, sustainable methods for transforming agri-food waste (tomato, peanut, apple, potato, grape, etc.) into proteins and biodegradable, plant-based materials.
  • A science fair: Come and take part in fun workshops with young European researchers to find out more about the world of research and the issues surrounding the circular economy.

Who should participate?

We invite anyone aged 15 and over, including high school and university students, early-career scientists, young entrepreneurs and start-ups, as well as anyone with an interest in the subject.
