NOVA.ID.FCT is a private non-profit research organization, which primarily aims at carrying out Science and Technology activities, fostering knowledge valorization and promoting the involvement of researchers, both at national and international levels, in RD&I projects in the areas of expertise of their research units.
NOVA.ID.FCT offers an inspiring, multinational and multicultural research ecosystem with over one hundred researchers engaged in cutting-edge research, training and outreach activities.
This partner will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of feedstock pre-treatment and precursor production in our operations. Additionally, they will contribute to the production of microbial proteins and polyesters through their expertise. They’ll work towards developing an integrated process that maximizes productivity with optimal conditions. Also, it will provide valuable insights into modeling techniques, allowing us to predict and optimize aspects of our production processes.

Professor Maria Reis
Maria Reis is a Full Professor in Environmental Biotechnology at NOVA FCT. Main research interests have been in the area of Environmental/Industrial BioEngineering, with special focus on the development of sustainable bioprocesses for the removal of pollutants from water and wastewater streams and for the exploitation of industrial wastes for the production of biopolymers and bulk chemicals, in the scope of circular economy.
